PINE VALLEY, CA

murrell-joe-jenny.JPGWe thank the Lord for the wonderful involvement of our church in sports camp, as we reached out to our community and beyond. We had 72 children register and an average of over 60 children at the camp each day. Many of the families that took part from the community are unchurched. We had a dozen children respond to Christ and had the opportunity to make many contacts during the week. And our youth had the opportunity to take leadership and be bold in their faith. It has been very exciting as a pastor to see the body at work!  Joe & Jenny Murrell

WESTON, NS

hortons.JPGWe have finished a wonderful VBS. The teachers and workers planted many seeds and we saw one 12-year-old receive Christ. We are careful not to make false converts during VBS because of the young minds and mentality that, “If my friends do it I’ll do it.” We would rather see a few get saved and mean it than fifty profess salvation and not come back. The church is doing well and the people are excited about what the Lord is doing. Gary & Kathlyn Horton

KITTREDGE, CO

ullrichs.JPGBonita and I were speakers at Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je for one entire week in July. There were 17 4th- and 5th-graders that responded to a salvation invitation at the beginning of the week, that I know of. About 20 responded to an invitation expressing a desire to serve the Lord at the end of the week. Bonita spoke at 16 sessions, with about 450 different kids (total combined count of the 4 age groups). Many responded to the Gospel messageMichael & Bonita Ullrich

CLOVER VALLEY, WA

aug-7-gustafson.jpgWe had an old fashioned picnic at our church this month, complete with all the fixins, including a table of pies any country fair would have been proud of.  The main attraction was our resident rib barbecuers and the variety of rib recipes they prepared, to be enjoyed by all. Part of our adult Sunday school class that day had been on how woman was made from the rib of man…and, as you might guess, a few of the ladies couldn’t resist the temptation to compare the main fare with our Bible lesson. “What are you trying to say?” one asked with a smile. It was all in good fun, though, as everyone knew we were just “ribbin’” one another. And speaking of that Bible lesson, which seemed to be the theme of the day, one of the men hid the apple pies so none of the ladies would be “tempted”! David & Linda Gustafson
