WYTOPITLOCK, ME

waite-sWe lost power a few weeks ago, and God really burdened me for a lady in our church who has electric heat and a little oil “monitor” (as it is named). So I told Sharon, “I really need to check on her,” and left the house to drive the 6 miles to her place. As I knocked on the door, I found that she had been in bed trying to stay warm. I went and got a generator to plug her heater into, and the smile that came to that 87-year-old face was priceless! About 2½ hours later the power was back, so I picked up the generator and put it away. She was so grateful that I would take the time and effort to invest in her. Praise God for Village Missions! Sutton, NE

wilsonsA man and wife who are regulars at the church had many of their family members come in from Virginia for Christmas. Three of their grandkids came and asked me if I would baptize them. Two of them had been in Susie’s Sunday school class this past summer. Susie had shared the Gospel with them and each had responded to the message and got saved.  A third, a 17-year-old grandson, asked if he could be baptized also. I asked if he was saved and he said yes.  The service was then planned for Sunday afternoon after the monthly fellowship dinner.  I said I needed to talk to them before the service and asked if they would come to the church Saturday morning.  One other boy who professed Jesus as Lord and Savior had not yet been baptized, so I asked him if he wanted to and he said yes. They all arrived Saturday morning, at which time I explained to them what was going to take place.  I then asked each to tell me how they got saved. When it was Cameron’s turn, the one who thought that he was saved, I asked if he minded if I shared some Scripture with him and he said it was fine. I took him through some salvation Scriptures and he confessed Jesus as his Lord. Another grandson who comes to church when his grandparents have him for the weekend asked Jesus to save him last spring.  His mom didn’t want him to be baptized as she thought he was “too young.”  But during the service, when she saw her nieces and nephews baptized, she relented with tears and told Chase he could get baptized, too.  So Chase told the congregation why he wanted to get baptized, and with no other clothes or a towel with him, he also was baptized that same afternoon with the rest of his family. Needless to say, there were a lot of tears at the service! What a blessing to see God work in the lives of these kids!  The five of them range from 9 years to 17 years old.  Riley & Susie Wilson

McCleary, WA

beardsWe kept getting hit with more and more snow the week before Christmas, and considered calling off our service on the 21st. In the end, we only cancelled Sunday school and went ahead with our morning service. As it turned out, we were the only church in town that had their doors open that morning! We had a small turnout, but the fellowship was good. The next week again was touch and go due to weather. We did finally decide to have our Christmas Eve candlelight service, and even though it was a smaller turnout than usual, it was a very nice service.  Joe & Karla Beard

Middle Stewiacke, NS

murphysA couple of weeks before Christmas, our family attended a birthday party at a bowling alley for one of the Kid’s Club kids.  Unfortunately, he was stuck in Quebec with the highway closed, as he’d gone on a trip with his mom’s friend. Since the party was already paid for, they had the party and videotaped some of it for him. We decided that we would let him share in the ‘Birthday Cake for Jesus’ at Kids’ Club the next week. We were very pleased to have his mom and her boyfriend come to the service that Sunday.  Breton & Mary Jane Murphy
