Josh & Xio Gard, Beaver, OR

Gards-Aug-25Vacation Bible School went very well this summer. We had one of the best volunteer groups I have worked with.  Everyone was consistently prepared and on time, and our teen helpers were all present every day – before the adults were all present. Everyone worked well together without any problems at all.  It was really a very good week. Several kids indicated decisions for Christ on the final day, so we ask your prayers for them as we follow up. None of those who indicated decisions are from Christian families.  One man who brought his two boys sat out in his truck until the church portion was over, and then just came in for the barbeque!  I consider the fact that he brought his boys a step in the right direction, but it shows the lack of support these kids will have at home.

Northfield, ON

Germain-Aug-18During the summer we have fewer programs going on at church, which leaves us more time to spend with people. Our visits change from a quick visit to spending more time finding out about their lives and what is happening in their families. We’ve made an effort to spend time with neighbors and let them get to know us. It may seem strange to be in an area for 13 years and not really know everyone. Most of our first visits are awkward, but as we are here longer and they become accustomed to us, they are more willing to talk and share their lives with us. Ron & Joan Germain

HORSE CREEK, CA

Close-Aug-11For our VBS, we decided to write our own material and put the money we would have spent on curriculum into incentives for the kids. It went very well! One boy brought five people to VBS and won a new bike and helmet. Mike & Susan Close

Pine Creek, MT

Pittman-Nathan-AdalynI’ve joined a local hiking group here on our new field, and had conversations about my faith and reason for moving to Montana. The group seemed surprised that I was ‘a normal looking guy.’ They seem open for future conversations, and even commented that they would like to ‘try’ our church some time. Addie is getting certified to be an instructor for a fitness class at the local gym. We pray that this opportunity will bring forth ladies who desire to prepare themselves for eternity. Our children have joined a local soccer team and a children’s production of the Wizard of Oz…they hope to invite these ‘new friends’ to our church.   Nathan & Addie Pittman
