WESLEY, ME

waited.jpgI took part in the funeral of a dear lady here who’d had a severe case of the shingles for over 5 years.  What a prayer warrior and example of how we should be praising our Lord!  When she was hurting so that she could only be up a short while, she would praise the Lord and sing hymns of praise.  Because of her great example, 150 attended and 15 (10%) trusted Christ as Savior at her funeral.  Duane & Joan Waite

MANTON, CA

steiners.JPGBack in October we were blessed by 27 young sixth-graders from “Little Country Church” out of Redding. They attended a “service camp” in the Manton area, and were excited to put their training to work. They polished apples for the Apple Festival, prepared the church garden for the winter weather, pruned the rosebushes, stacked and split firewood, polished the sanctuary furniture, and washed the inside and outside of the windows. They were such hard workers that we finished all of the jobs in one day, instead of two. Thus, the second day we decided to take them to Bluff Springs and across the flume to the Manton Cave. It was quite an adventure for “city kids” and some of them really stepped out of their comfort zone. They learned the true meaning of the verse found in Isaiah 41:10 – “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” We were so proud that each and every one of them at least tried the adventures, despite being afraid. MIDDLE STEWIACKE, NS

murphys.JPGKids’ Club has been going great; we’re even getting some more new faces. We are just thrilled with how God is blessing there. Keeping them focused during the Bible story is sometimes challenging, but worth it when you consider these kids, with the exception of ours and one other, don’t come from Christian homes. There was also one of the funniest moments I can remember having in Kids’ Club. When Mary Jane asked who was following Jesus around everywhere He went, one of the newer kids answered, “The Paparazzi!”  Breton & Mary Jane Murphy

WYE, MD

canady-p.JPGFor a while now I have been preaching on the life of Christ, this month from Matthew 10 and Luke 10, where Jesus sends the 12 and the 72 out to local villages to tell the folks how they can be in God’s Kingdom. We’ve been learning some important lessons on sharing our faith from Jesus’ instructions to His disciples. This has also given me the opportunity each Sunday to present the “Good News” within the context of what the disciples were supposed to tell the folks in the villages. The timing has been perfect in that we have had a number of “guests” recently, and at least one responded by inviting Christ to be their Savior this past month.  Paul & Mary Lou Canady
