Jan 4: Doug & Glenda Campbell, Chetwynd, ON

campbellsChetwynd is basically a rural road near Burk’s Falls (about 1000 people), between Orillia & North Bay, in the ‘Near North’ of Ontario. Our church and parsonage are on Chetwynd Rd, just outside of town. The church has been here a long time but is a new VM field. Primarily a tourist/recreation area, we’re only ½-hour from the famous Algonquin Park; lumbering & manufacturing are in decline. Many with cottages in the area end up retiring here. People are friendly and we feel welcomed by the church and the community. Prayer requests: we’ll follow God’s leading as we begin this new field; our efforts to get acquainted with the community will be fruitful; we can establish home Bible study groups for discipleship/outreach; invitations to special events & services will be well received; our church family will grow together in the grace & knowledge of our Lord. We’ve had good contacts with new people and pray they’ll be receptive to the Gospel; pray God will open doors to reach young families – we have very few.

December 28: Mike & Gayle Stiener, Manton, CA

steinersManton is 45 miles southeast of Redding, and just south of Shingletown. We’re in the foothills near Mt. Lassen. The Manton area has about 600 people and consists mostly of retired folks and working folks that commute to Redding or Red Bluff but struggle due to gas prices. We are the only church in town, so we are here to serve all needs. Pray for a revival in Manton, in our little grade school of only 38 children, and in those involved in alcohol and drug abuse. Pray that we might offer them hope through the Gospel message.

December 21: Tyler & Misty Larson, Bethany, KS

larson-tBethany is a rural church in north-central KS, about an hour south of the NE/KS state line. We’re approximately 11 miles from the nearest town. Despite being so far from a town, we have an incredible children’s ministry, with about 50% of the congregation under 18 years old! The people here are predominately farmers. Please pray for us as we work in our second year of Awana. We have an incredible opportunity to reach children in this area, and through these children, our prayer is that we will be able to see their families come to Christ. Please pray for the spiritual growth of the people and an effective outreach to the lost in our area.

December 7: Jeremy & Mindi Sarver, Volga, IA

Jeremy & Mindi SarverWe’re located in the picturesque hills of northeastern Iowa, in a town of 250 people. Farming – particularly dairy farming – is the main occupation. We’re in our third year here, and are thankful God has placed us at Calvary Bible Church. Our newly formed youth group has about 12 kids, with only 2 from our church. Please pray for spiritual interest and discipleship. Pray for the men’s Bible study that started this fall, as well as other outreaches. Pray that more people will long for a relationship with Jesus. And pray for us – at the end of December we’re expecting twins!

November 30: Franklin & Lynette Knoop, Balsam, MN

Franklin & Lynette KnoopAbout 100 miles northwest of Duluth, this is an area of mainly logging and tourism, near the iron mines of northern MN. Pray that we, through our Awana children’s program, would reach unchurched families in the community. Pray that we would continue to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Eph. 4:3), and that we would grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18).
