February 1: Nathan & Stephanie Dick, Panton, VT

dick-nOn the western edge of VT just off Lake Champlain, the Adirondack Mountains of NY are on our west and the Green Mountains of VT on the east. We’re in the heart of dairy country; our county is the milk shed of all New England. In Panton, cows outnumber people almost 3 to 1! Vermont is known for its liberal ideals, yet the people are very spiritual. They worship many gods, eastern religions are very popular, and the people have an intense love for “Mother Earth.” But, like the rest of America, many homes are filled with broken hearts and shattered dreams. Pray for my ability to get into new homes and to be bold in proclaiming the faith. It’s very easy to get acquainted with people in New England, but very hard to earn a spot for ministering to them. I’ve been given the opportunity to write a weekly faith column in our local newspaper that reaches about 20,000 homes. This is an amazing door that has opened! Pray that the people’s hearts would be changed in this area.

January 25: Owen & Lori Corcoran, Gorham, NY

corcoransIn the western Finger Lakes region of upstate NY, our church is nestled in Ontario County, surrounded by farms, vineyards, and beautiful lakes. Halfway between Rochester & Syracuse, just south of I-90, we’re not quite as rural as some VM fields. We draw families from several nearby areas, as well as right here in our neighborhood, making for a lovely, diverse church family. Pray that our Awana will continue to be successful in ministering to area families. We also trust that God will bless our home group that began this New Year. Praise the Lord for His continued guidance in “loving the people and preaching the Word.”

January 18: Skip & Venita Pullen, Watersmeet/Bruce Crossing, MI

pullensWatersmeet & Bruce Crossing are 18 miles apart in the Upper Peninsula, yet they’re in different time zones. In the middle of the Ottawa National Forest and once a logging & railroad hub, today this area is known for its four-season recreational opportunities. Pray for opportunities to reach out in both communities and for continued spiritual growth of God’s people through men’s & ladies’ Bible studies. Pray for boldness as we continue to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray for the church building renovations/funds at Bruce Crossing.  Praise the Lord for supplying funds to pay off the Watersmeet parsonage!

January 11: Bob & Cheryl Fletcher, Dilley, OR

fletchersThe Bible Church of Dilley is located approximately 25 miles west of Portland, halfway between Portland and Cannon Beach. We are preparing for economic hard times by stocking a food pantry and gathering names of families in our area who may need the help.  Pray for our three new elders.
