Village Missions Prayer Requests

Pray for the many VBS and camp ministries taking place on our fields this month.

We have about six missionary candidates raising support.

We have some churches interested in receiving leadership from us. Pray for wisdom as the District Representatives meet with these churches.

The Village Missions’ Canadian office is changing to Sorrento, BC. Pray for a smooth transition.

Brian & Carole Wechsler will be participating in the 40th anniversary of Christian Fellowship Church, Gold River, BC, August 1-2. Village Missionaries Rob & Debbie Hoffman at Gold River will also be celebrating their 25th anniversary of serving the church.

August 2: Kris & Joyce Kramer, Camano Island, WA

kramer-kCamano Island is in the upper Puget Sound area, with a population of about 15,000 people. Some residents commute south towards Everett/Seattle; many retirees have also settled here. This small island is very beautiful in natural scenery and the people are wonderful. We love Camano Island, and we love our church! Pray that we would be a church who abides in Christ and His Word abides in us so we may bear much fruit, that our outreach ministries would effectively communicate Christ’s love and message, and that our ongoing building project would glorify God during the process and after occupancy.

July 26: Ron & Joan Germain, Northfield, ON

germainsWe live in the southernmost area of Canada, two hours from Niagara Falls. Factories and agriculture are our main industries, and tobacco, grains, and vegetables are the main crops grown here. Our little white church is in the country surrounded by an apple orchard. Pray for our children’s ministries through soccer and in the public schools. We need wisdom on how to bring the community together and introduce them to God. Pray as we disciple & teach so that they might disciple & teach. Many in our area are without jobs due to the economic downturn.

July 19: Tom & Susan Carnes, Montville, CT

carnes-tThis small town SE of Hartford, surrounded by many larger towns, is not very rural. The biggest industry is the Mohegan Sun Casino. This has provided jobs – but at high costs, with many succumbing to gambling and alcohol addictions. This is a blue-collar town with many opportunities to reach out and help with needs. Our church food bank helps a lot of people each month. After eight years at Montville, CT, we are taking a general leave from Village Missions.  We have been through a difficult time at this field and need time to heal and seek the Lord’s will for the future.  Please pray for us as we travel to Tennessee to live near Susan’s parents and regroup. We will be moving Aug. 1.  The Lord has already provided housing for us. Pray for our three boys as they adjust to a new home and new friends. Pray for our faith to be strengthened during this time of uncertainty.

July 12: Mike & Sue Close, Horse Creek, CA

close-mHorse Creek Church is the only church on a 70-mile stretch of Hwy 96; therefore, we have a very diverse congregation with many different backgrounds. We’re in northern CA, 35 miles NW of Yreka and about 60 miles from Ashland, OR. This used to be a very productive logging area, but for the most part that’s been stopped legally. A few people ranch, others have trades and home businesses, or gold mine in the river. There are many retired people. Interestingly, in Horse Creek, the only public building is the church! Because of the diverse church backgrounds, pray for a continuing sense of unity within the church and strong leading to reach the lost of our community.
