July 12: Mike & Sue Close, Horse Creek, CA
Horse Creek Church is the only church on a 70-mile stretch of Hwy 96; therefore, we have a very diverse congregation with many different backgrounds. We’re in northern CA, 35 miles NW of Yreka and about 60 miles from Ashland, OR. This used to be a very productive logging area, but for the most part that’s been stopped legally. A few people ranch, others have trades and home businesses, or gold mine in the river. There are many retired people. Interestingly, in Horse Creek, the only public building is the church! Because of the diverse church backgrounds, pray for a continuing sense of unity within the church and strong leading to reach the lost of our community.
