January 17: Dean & Gwen Bousman, Elk Creek, CA
This northern CA ranching community has a population of 250, in the foothills of the Mendocino Forest and 20 miles from Willows on I-5. At age 19, Walter Duff worked on a ranch nearby for room & board while holding meetings at the church. For our Old West Bible Camp, VBS, and other ministries, children come from the ranches, the Grindstone Rancheria (small Native American settlement 7 miles away), and from Elk Creek. We also host an annual Thanksgiving meal for the town that includes the shut-ins. Gwen leads the women’s Bible study and I lead the home Bible study. Pray as we call on ranchers, the Rancheria, and townsfolk, that souls will be saved. The gospel is too important not to share.
