May 2: David & Joann Hernandez, West Liberty, OH

HernandezThe church is 7 miles outside the village of West Liberty amidst rolling fields of corn and soybeans, within 5 miles of two Honda manufacturing facilities. Most employment is related to Honda and support companies for Honda. Pray for Union Chapel as we reach out to our community through Good News Club, evangelistic outreaches, ‘Friend to Friend’ ministries, and Bible studies. Pray for our church family as we strive to disciple new believers. Union Chapel is blessed with several ministering through one-on-one and group Bible studies.

April 25: Paul & Evelyn Brandon, Greenwood, BC

Brandons2This smallest city in all of Canada, with a population of about 700, is located on Hwy #3 in southern BC. Nestled in a very small valley of the Monashee Mountains, Greenwood has a very colorful mining history, beautiful heritage buildings & industrial ruins, and a segment of Japanese people who were relocated for internment at the start of WW II. Greenwood Evangel Chapel is new to VM and is growing numerically and spiritually. People have seen the need to be involved, which creates a friendly, loving environment. Please pray for added attendance, more spiritual growth, and an impact on the community as they see an active community church.

April 18: Gil & Trish Doebler, District Representative for OR, southern ID, and southwest MT

DoeblersWe minister to 38 missionary couples serving on fields in the mountains, the desert, the valleys, and near the sea. Most fields are very rural, although some are suburban. Our travels take us to areas of logging, ranching, farming, fishing, to the areas of Intel and Google. It thrills us to worship with Christ’s Church in the remote communities where the beauty of God’s creation is spectacular. Pray for safety as we travel. Pray for wisdom as we help place leadership. Pray for God’s blessing on His church and servants as they minister in town and country churches.

As You Pray This Week

prayer-requestsThank you for bringing Village Missions before the Lord each week. Please join us in praying for the following:

Pray that the glorious message of Christ’s death and resurrection proclaimed in churches served by Village Missions would bear fruit in believers and unbelievers alike.

Please continue to ask God to comfort Village Missionaries who have recently had loved ones pass away: Jim and Brenda Harkabus, their daughter Faith; Don and Kathryn Kunkel, their son Jon, and Jerry Fuller, his wife Pat.

The Village Missions Canada Board meeting will be held April 27. Please pray for preparations for this meeting and for wisdom for board members.

The week of April 12, Jim Cross and Brian Wechsler will travel to the Association of North American Missions Leadership Forum held in Lake Williamson, IL. April 11: Ashley & Janet Anderson, Friant, CA

Anderson-AThis town of about 500 is near Fresno. Most prominent as you approach Friant is the dam for Millerton Lake. Millerton Village is home to many who attend our church, most of whom are retired. Some folks in the area struggle financially due to the economic situation. Friant Foothill Bible Church, the only church in Friant, has been with Village Missions for over 25 years. We meet in an old school building owned by the local Native American tribe. This has sometimes been a problem due to inadequate heating & air conditioning. Sometimes there’s a shortage of people able to set up/take down the chairs. Praise God for the attendees who evidence a desire to grow in the Word. Pray that the ministry of the Word will be effective and that outreach efforts will result in others coming to know the Savior.
