woman prayingBrian Wechsler writes, “Thank you for praying for my visit to Virginia. I had an opportunity to share at all four services at The Lake of the Woods Church and speak to four Sunday School classes!  I also was able arrange speaking at a missions conference at a church in Maryland this fall. Please pray that other churches will be burdened about the spiritual darkness in rural North America and want to add Village Missions to their missions budget!”

Mike and Judie Jones had a great weekend this past Saturday andSunday. On Saturday, they met with a young couple planning to come into our internship program. They oriented them with the ministry of Village Missions and they are now in process of raising their support.

On Sunday, Mike Jones spoke at our VM church in Blue Mound, KS. Blue Mound Federated Church has been a great encouragement to our mission over the few years they have been a part of Village Missions. Besides their regular giving they have financially supported our mini conferences as well sponsoring hunting weekends that have raised many thousands of dollars for the mission.

Mike and Judie Jones leave this week for Dallas, OR, in preparation for the Candidate School March 31-April 4. Village Missions has eight couples attending. Please pray for them and us as the week progresses.

Roy Adrian will be visiting Millar College of the Bible, Sunnybrae Campus, on March 31. Pray that he would be able to develop good relationships with staff and students.

Pray for Tim and Gwen Griffiths, Randy and Lisa Picklesimer, and Carl DeyArmin as they represent Village Missions at the Northwest Ministries Convention in Redmond, WA, March 20-22. Pray for Carl as he has two workshops on Saturday “Do You Love the People You Serve” and “Family Discipleship and the Lost.”

March 30: Bill & Karla Allen, Otego, NY

Allen Bill, KarlaThe community of Otego is nestled in the hills west of the Catskill Mountains in southeastern New York. Being close to the city of Oneonta, people commute to work where a variety of professions are available. First Christian Church of Otego is situated four miles outside the Village. Eighty-five percent of our congregation is retired or at the brink of retirement. To improve community outreach, we changed the name of our monthly Fellowship Dinner to Community Potluck, which immediately tripled the attendance and brought new folks to the church. We are thankful for new families God has brought into the church and folks who have accepted Christ who are growing in their faith. Please help us pray for young families and continued spiritual growth.

As You Pray This Week

woman prayingThank you for praying for our trip to Pierceville, Kansas, for the dedication of their new addition and celebration of sixty years of being served by Village Missions. We had a wonderful time of celebration and praising God for all He has done and is doing. If you would like to see pictures of the weekend celebration please click on this link.

Please be in prayer for Brian as he travels to Virginia for a series of meetings. He will be meeting with a group in Maryland and then presenting Village Missions at The Lake of the Woods Church in Locust Grove, VA.

Roy Adrian writes, “Thank the Lord for safety on the roads – as I write this I am at PRBI, a Bible College in Alberta. I will be speaking in chapel on Friday. It looks like I (Roy) will be having dental surgery and possibly a root canal onMarch 20 as soon as I get home from this trip. Thank you for your prayers.”

March 23: Alan & Bonnie Klein, Sutherlands River, NS

kleinSutherlands River is one of those “wide spots on the road” that used to be a bustling centre, but is now a bedroom community to New Glasgow. We are located on the North Shore of Nova Scotia. Our area is rolling hills, lots of trees, and the Northumberland Strait nearby. Please pray for our church to continue in effective witness to those around, while building up and strengthening the saints who faithfully come to worship. We have a few newer Christians and it is exciting to see them grow in their faith, and to have the more seasoned veterans of the faith encouraging them on in growth. Pray too for our kids as we prepare them to live in our world today.

As You Pray This Week

Thank you for praying for Brian and Carole’s trip to Arizona.  Our donor luncheon on March 3 raised $1230 for the base salary needs of Mayer, AZ.  We were able to share about the ministry of Village Missions at Sunland Springs Chapel in Mesa and preach at Venture Out, also in Mesa. Tim Griffiths represented Village Missions at the Grace Bible Church Missions Conference in Sun City West.

Please pray for Brian and Carole as they travel to Pierceville, KS to help the congregation dedicate their new addition and celebrate the 40-year anniversary of being served by Village Missions. The celebration will take place March 15-16.

Mike Jones will be in Dallas, TX this week at the World Evangelism Conference being held at Dallas Theological Seminary. Please pray for his recruiting efforts while on campus. Mike will be having dinner Tuesday evening with a possible future missionary and will be meeting with staff while on campus.

While in Texas Mike Jones will be meeting with a young couple interested in our Internship Program. Pray that our time will be encouraging for everyone.

We are winding down to the Candidate school being held in Dallas, OR March 31-April 4. Praise God we’ve added another candidate bring our total to seven for the week. Pray for these couples as they and we seek God’s leading in all of this.

This week Roy Adrian will travel to Northern Alberta to visit PRBI, the Bible college that Lennie and Roy attended almost 40 years ago. The reason for the trip is recruitment – pray that God would lead in building relationships and encouraging the college students to follow God’s leading into ministry.

March 16: Mike & Mati Winters, Mackay, ID

wintersWe’re located in Mackay, Idaho, in the beautiful Lost River Valley. We continue to praise the Lord for this community. We are thankful that we have a church board and a church body that we have a wonderful fellowship and relationships with and that we consider family. We pray that the unity and care we have for one another will not be hindered, but continue to grow in a more personal way. We ask for prayer in our community as we continue to build relationships and be active members of this town. Please pray for our Public School District as it faces financial challenges every year. We praise the Lord for our Public School District and the staff that works so hard to educate our kids with care and concern.

March 9: Mike & Kim Krutsch, Trail, OR

krutschTrail is an unincorporated community with houses spread along two rural highways. Logging was once the mainstay, but now the economy is largely geared to the tourists who come for the world-class fishing on the scenic Rogue River and those traveling to nearby Crater Lake National Park. Many people commute to Medford about 25 miles away for work. The majority of recent arrivals to the area are retirees from California. The school and fire department are located two miles from Trail in the larger town of Shady Cove, along with local businesses and several churches. Trail Community Church has been affiliated with Village Missions since 1973. It is a mostly older congregation, although a couple of young families have recently started attending. Just before we arrived in September, an area church closed its doors and many new people have made Trail their new church home since then. Around 80 people attend each week. There is a real interest in some of the men to begin a weekly discipleship program. Pray that this is able to get off the ground and that real spiritual growth will take place in the men and then in turn will impact their families.

As You Pray This Week

cross prayingBrian and Carole are in Arizona this week speaking at churches and visiting donors of Village Missions. Monday, March 3, a Village Missions Ministry update was held at Palm West Community Church with roughly 40 people in attendance.

Tim Griffiths will be flying back to Oregon after representing Village Missions at the Grace Bible Church Missions Conference last week. It has been awesome to watch God open doors throughout this trip, thank you so much for praying.

Brian will be speaking at the Venture Out Worship service at 9:00 am on Sunday, March 9.  Venture Out is located at 5001 E. Main Street, Mesa, AZ.  Please pray that they will be able to make good contacts for both Village Missions U.S. and Canada.

This month Roy Adrian will be doing some recruiting by visiting two Bible Colleges. Pray that God would be moving on hearts, and preparing people for ministry – and by His grace – ministry with Village Missions.

Thank you for praying for the mini-conference at Cannon Beach last week.  Missionaries left renewed and encouraged in their ministry and it was a special time of fellowship for them.  Please pray for the upcoming mini-conferences, which will be held June-August.
