July 27: Maury & Linda Jenkins, Skokomish, WA

The church is located in the Skokomish Valley, 8 miles north of Shelton, WA, off US 101. The valley is nestled at the foot of the Olympic Mountains, and the Skokomish River, across the road from the church, flows into Hood Canal. Originally homesteaded in the 1800s as an agricultural/logging area, the valley is increasingly populated by retirees and commuters. Church membership is diverse, including some of the original farming families as well as newer members of the community. We also have members who drive as far as 25 miles from neighboring communities to attend here. We’ve been growing and attendance is averaging 80-90 per week. Pray for continued spiritual growth and maturity, both for the adults and the youth. We also ask for prayer for our upcoming Vacation Bible School (Aug. 4-8) and fall ministries.

July 20: Tom & Carol Lee Bell, Blodgett Mills, NY

Blodgett Mills is just below Cortland, NY, about halfway between Syracuse and Binghamton. The area is one of rolling hills and dairy farms. Cortland is an old manufacturing city, but some of the industries have closed.

Blodgett Mills is just a little village, and the Church of Blodgett Mills is the only church in the village. We are not that far from lots of other churches, but the ones we are seeking would not go down the road to visit a church outside the community.

Praise the Lord that in our 3½ years here, the church has been able to make quite a few improvements to the church and parsonage. We want to keep things up to attract new people and be a good testimony in the community.

Pray that our people will be a testimony to their friends & neighbors. Pray for more involvement in the life of the church.

July 13: Roy & Lennie Adrian, Canadian Regional Administrator

We’re in the North Okanogan Valley, 20 minutes north of Salmon Arm, BC, in an area called Notch Hill (Sorrento). Our home is the administration office for Village Missions of Canada. The payroll and accounting is done in Richmond, BC, and we do the rest from here. Praise God for travel safety. We have two major concerns to bring before the throne of grace. With 8 fields waiting for leadership, we need Village Missionaries. We also need funds to continue to help the rural churches of Canada. Pray for new candidates and for the Lord to direct us to new donors through our fundraising banquets in Halifax, Red Deer, and Toronto.

July 6: Gary & Vicky Turner, Nile, WA

We’re 30 miles NW of Yakima on Highway 410, in the scenic Nile Valley along the Naches River. There are about 1000 people in the area, mostly retired couples, with some younger families. The church has a variety of ages and a full program of activities. We arrived in May, and we praise God for a good welcome; we pray for a fruitful ministry in the church and community. Pray for Toby and Joy, our youth pastor & wife, as they minister to the area youth. Pray for VBS the last week of July. Pray for me as I meet with individual men for discipleship, and for Vicky to be an encouragement to the ladies. Pray for God’s strength & wisdom for the Flying H Boys’ Ranch staff, and for the boys to respond to the program, turn to Christ, and be reconciled to parents and families. Pray for our son and daughter to walk closely with the Lord and be guided by Him.

June 29: Walt & Rosanna Jacoby, District Representatives, Southwest District

We serve 26 missionaries and the churches they serve in Arizona, California, and Nevada. Please pray for new Village Missionaries, Ashley & Janet Anderson, who have just started serving at Friant, CA. Several of our missionaries and churches are involved in some phase of a building project. Please pray for God’s glory, wisdom, and provision. Please pray that the Lord will be glorified as He ministers through us to encourage the missionaries and the churches. Please pray that the Lord will grant us His wisdom to minister effectively. Please pray that the Lord will raise up Hispanic VMs to serve our field at Kettleman City, CA. Please pray for each missionary family and church we serve to have the Lord’s grace, wisdom, protection, and encouragement as they faithfully serve Christ in loving the people and proclaiming His gospel.

June 22: Tim & Pam Buchanan, Spring Valley, CO

Our community is about 10 miles northeast of Monument, CO. The church is in the country with a growing community around it, but no town per se. The church meets in a small chapel it rents from a cemetery in a very secluded area. God has truly blessed us by allowing us to purchase 14 acres of land right on the highway in the last few years. Now we are starting the construction process for our own building. Please pray for wisdom as we trust Him to direct the process of building and for His help getting through all the red tape. We need to be visible to the community so we can reach people for Christ.

June 15: Bill & Mary Korf, Cotopaxi, CO

Located in the mountains on the Arkansas River, about 1½ hours SW of Colorado Springs, this is a mostly retired community with a very transient population. The Royal Gorge is just down the river. Rafting, fishing, skiing, and hunting are all popular here. Our county is the prison capital of the United States, with over 15 prisons. We praise the Lord for the many new families we have worshipping with us. Both men’s and women’s Bible studies meet just about every day of the week. God has blessed us with many great workers. Pray for wisdom to best meet the needs of the family of God here. Pray for opportunities to lead others to the Lord of all creation, for strength to carry out the many responsibilities we both have, and for more children to be brought into our Sunday school department.

June 8: Laurie & Marjorie Goertzen, Rose Prairie, BC

Upper Pine Gospel Chapel is at Rose Prairie, a rural community 25 minutes north of Fort St. John, in northeastern British Columbia. Many people subsidize their cattle and grain operations with other employment, such as oil patch work, logging, or service industries. Hunting and trapping are common pursuits, and some local men work for outfitters that guide hunters from the USA and Europe. Praise the Lord for the witness of many individuals in our church family in the planned outreaches throughout the year, as well as in the daily round of life and work. We are grateful to the Lord for meaningful contact with people who really want to grow. Please pray that as a body and as individuals, our church would continue to mature in Christ and be a light for Him in our community.

June 1: Bill & Vicki Devena, Bliss, ID

Bliss is a small town of around 300 people, located on I-84 near Twin Falls, in the southern part of the state. The land is high desert, but some of it is irrigated and used for farming and dairy cattle. Please pray that we will be able to bring people of different backgrounds together in the name of Christ. Pray for effectiveness in sharing the Gospel and discipling believers in ministries to all age groups: AWANA for the children, youth group meetings, home Bible studies, outreach to the elderly, and a rest home ministry. Pray that as a local church, we will grow in fellowship with God and with one another, and will appear as lights in a dark world in need of a Savior.

May 25: Joe & Karla Beard, McCleary, WA

beards.JPGMcCleary has a population of 3000 and is about 20 miles west of the state capital of Olympia, making it an easy commute for those who work in the city. Because of its prime location, the town should continue to grow. McCleary is also home of Simpson Door Factory and annually sponsors the Bear Festival. McCleary Community Church is centrally located in the town, and we have an average attendance of 50 people. We praise the Lord for new people coming to the church and for the spiritual growth taking place in the lives of those attending. Pray for the Vacation Bible School that will be taking place in June or July. Pray that we would have plenty of help and that the Lord would fill our building with boys and girls who need to hear the life-changing story of Jesus.
