Prayer Spotlight

July 15 - Jeremiah & Tricia Hayek, Galena, AK

hayeks.jpgGalena is in the middle of Alaska, about 250 air miles west of Fairbanks. It is a town of about 750 people that is only accessible by plane or boat. The people are a mixture of Athabasca Indians, Eskimos, and Caucasians. Hunting and fishing aren’t just sports here – they are a way of life. There are two different schools in town – the city school, which goes from K-12, and the Galena Interior Learning Academy (GILA), which is a boarding school for grades 9-12 held in the abandoned Air Force Base. We are very excited about all the opportunities for ministry. Praise God for the large number of men already involved in the church, and the ministries that are already taking place. Pray that God will provide the additional support that we need. Pray that God will open doors for us into the community, and that we will bond with those in the church quickly.
