Mohawk Valley was featured in the old movie “Shenandoah” and is just as beautiful today, hosting several covered bridges and small farms. Mohawk Community Church is strategically positioned at the main crossroads. We send a mailing to over 900 homes in the Valley. Sixteen years ago the church was voting to close the doors due to a lack of spiritual leadership and dwindling attendance. Village Missions was contacted and full-time leadership was provided! Today we are praising the Lord for the raising of a new sanctuary/multi-use building that is about 1/3 finished. Pray for needed funding to complete our building project. Praise the Lord for the majority of our members who are reading scripture and journaling each day. Pray that more will be involved. Pray for new visitors and young people to be drawn to the Lord and to our fellowship.

Industry in the surrounding area is a mixture of grain farming, ranching, and dairies. Some of Caron’s 120+ residents are employed by those industries, or work in the city of Moose Jaw, about a 20-minute drive to the east. Some residents are self-employed carpenters or mechanics. We also enjoy the energy and enthusiasm of young families along with the experience and wisdom of those who have retired, as together we contribute to the strength of our community. The Caron Church began as a result of an outreach program for kids in January, 1995. Even though we have experienced difficult times as many churches do, God has blessed us and there is ongoing evidence of His working in people’s lives – developing them into what He wants them to be for Him. Opportunities to minister to those who do not yet know Christ continue to present themselves to us, and we have had the awesome privilege of leading some of those people to Christ for salvation. Our desire is to be ever alert and faithful in those opportunities, and we would invite you to pray with us that our testimony for Christ will continue to make a difference.

We drive 2½ hours to Fallon to do most of our grocery shopping. Our community sits between 2 mountain ranges at an elevation of 5800 ft., with a population of about 1500. Round Mountain Gold employs the vast majority, while ranching is the other main industry here. It is a transient community with many moving on to mines in bigger areas after just a couple of years of employment. Pray that we would be able to reach these people while they are here – investing in their lives, instilling a solid foundation, and preparing them for when they move on. Pray for our congregation to have a desire to grow in their faith and a hunger for God’s Word. Pray for our Mom’s Ministry to grow and be effective in reaching moms with the Gospel.

This is a challenging mission field that desperately needs reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray for our continued effective outreach into our community as we seek to develop relationships and share Christ. Pray for Edgewood Community Church as it continues the processes of becoming an Emergency Shelter for the Pierce County Office of Emergency Management. Praise the Lord for continuing growth in our children’s ministries. Pray for the church as it undertakes a major renovation project this summer on our multipurpose building. Pray for continued unity as the church continues to face and adapt to the reality of change in our community and in our church, as we become the church the Lord wants us to be.

Fishing is still a vital part of PC; the sign coming into town still reads, “Home of the Dory Fleet” – a Dory is a flat-bottom boat that can be launched and landed right on the beach. Many of the old fishermen slowly retired in PC and the town has developed into quite a tourist attraction. The winter population stands at about 2000 people, but the summer population explodes to well over 4000. Pacific City is surrounded by farming and logging. As we strive to reach this area for Christ, please pray for greater outreach into our community. Pray for the various Bible studies that meet weekly and for growth in the lives of the believers. Pray also for our various youth outreaches, including plans already being worked on for this summer’s Vacation Bible School.

Janice faithfully served the Lord alongside her husband, Pat, on fields in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick for the past nine years. The funeral service will be held on April 1st at 2 p.m. at the Devon Park Baptist Church in Fredericton, NB. Pat and the family would like to thank each one of you for your faithful prayers and support during these difficult days. Pat would ask you to pray for each part of the service, that it would bring glory to God and salvation to those who need Christ.

Renovo is a small community situated in the midst of thousands of acres of State Forest land. Wildlife is abundant here, along with plenty of outdoor activities. There is no local industry other than a small medical center/nursing home. Most locals travel anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours to their jobs. Our church’s front door opens up to a beautiful view of the west branch of the Susquehanna River and the endless mountains that surround it. It is breathtaking during the fall and after a snowstorm. We pray for people’s hearts to be changed and for the desire to serve and worship Christ daily to replace the desires of the world. We pray that our little church would be a light in this community that others would be attracted to. We pray for God to continue to empower and strengthen us to minister the love of Christ to all that we meet.

Rancho Tehama is a growing community of 3000-plus residents comprised mostly of retirees and lower income families. Almost all employment is off the “Ranch,” as it is referred to by locals. We are grateful for God’s faithfulness in regularly bringing new people to visit in our services. PRAY the new people will feel wanted as the church body reaches out to them in meaningful ways. PRAY for the salvation of those needing the Savior. PRAY for the weekly youth and children’s ministries. PRAY for willingness on the part of the church to assimilate new people into the fabric of church ministries and relationships.
